The Impact: Within R&D, the Credit Research & Insight team's purpose is to generate unique market-leading insights on the credit implications of a complex and fast-changing environment, with a goal to support the relevance and performance of our credit ratings through the cycles and over the longer term. Working closely with the economic and analytical teams, the ratings research team analyses complex macro, credit, and market trends, linking the dots across asset classes, to define the house base-case and key risks. It provides the markets with timely, relevant, and insightful research on the credit implications of a fast-changing world. The team represents S&P Global Ratings in the markets on a wide range of topics. The Emerging Markets Credit Research team acts as a catalyst by connecting our emerging markets specialists and content across S&P Global. We leverage our unparalleled network of rating analysts and connect with experts across S&P Global to generate unique thought leadership. Partner across the function to drive and implement a robust emerging market research strategy and lead the regional Credit Conditions Committee (CCC) process, which is the cornerstone of S&P Global Ratings' analytical governance process. Manage a team of two credit research professionals to deliver innovative and impactful content. Have exposure to senior internal and external stakeholders and act as one of our key spokespersons on emerging markets. Responsibilities: Credit Research and Credit Conditions Committee Research strategy: Develop the strategy for macro-credit and thematic research that supports S&P Global Ratings as a leading voice on credit research and insight on emerging markets in partnership with the Global Head of Emerging Markets Analytics and Asia Pacific Head of Credit Research; identify research themes based on forward-looking credit, financial, and macro trends and areas of interest in emerging markets, with clear governance that demonstrates the impact we are making; improve the scalability of the data analysis infrastructure to ensure growth of content alongside consistency and efficiency. CCC: Govern the Emerging Markets Credit Conditions Committee and actively participate in the Global Credit Conditions Committee process, which define the house base case on credit trends, monitor macro-credit risks, flag potential areas of vulnerabilities in credit ratings for AOCCs, with a goal to support robust ratings performance through the cycles and over the longer term. Scenario analysis: Against a backdrop of heightened geopolitical risks and policy uncertainty, help lay out alternative scenarios to support analysts' ability to continuously offer forward-looking credit opinions to the markets. Publications: Provide direction and review high profile publications so that they create the right impact in the market. Lead and oversee the publication of the CCC reports on a quarterly basis and related communication; actively participate in the Emerging Markets cross-divisional and Ratings Thematic Research Labs. Drive regular publications on credit outlooks, ratings performance & market trends (incl default and issuance forecasts) on the region with a focus on market impact and optimization of the process to reduce cost and time-to-market. This includes being able to create demonstrable evidence of how we leverage research to build relevance. Market Impact and Engagement Market engagement: Engage in active dialog with emerging markets participants, particularly investors, to represent our research and pick up trends in the markets. Market impact: Enhance the impact of research publications in the market in collaboration with the marketing and communications teams. Senior spokesperson with the media, senior leadership, and at conferences. Leadership and Management Manage a team of two credit research professionals; Coach team members to support their development and operate at their fullest potential in an inclusive and dynamic team environment; Partnering and Influence Leverage the outstanding network of ratings analysts, economists, and experts across the organization and create engagement to produce market-leading research. Identify opportunities / lead/ contribute to cross-divisional research to leverage SPGI data and expertise in emerging markets to create unique insights. Engage and partner with key stakeholders to effectively influence and drive execution of the research strategy and governance of the CCC process. Qualifications: An S&P Global Employee at this level would typically have over 15 years of industry experience in credit analysis with deep knowledge of capital markets and macro-economic context with a key focus on emerging markets. Innovative and strategic mindset, ability to challenge the status quo and anticipate needs and trends in the markets. Ability to drive execution, gaining buy-in from a large range of stakeholders and managing cross-dependencies. Excellent communication skills with ability to be a spokesperson for S&P.
