Hutcheon Mearns are currently recruiting for an Interim Finance Manager (1 year contract) to support the finance team of an organisation undergoing a finance systems and business transformation. This job opportunity has arisen due to the current incumbent being seconded to support the implementation of the new system across the business. The Interim Finance Manager role is crucial, encompassing ownership of financial controls, month-end reporting, compliance and team management. Based in Fife, this organisation offers hybrid working where team members can be in the office 1 day per week and interaction with stakeholders across the UK and internationally is required. The Job Opportunity Reporting into the Finance Director, you will play a key role in the management of the month-end reporting cycle, ensuring accuracy and compliance across the team. This will be a varied role involving: Preparation and reporting of consolidated monthly management accounts including commentary on key financial and operational insight for Directors Managing the month-end close process ensuring achievement of reporting deadlines Lead the preparation of annual audits in line with regulatory requirements and liaising with auditors Ongoing process improvement of month-end close processes Conducting financial appraisal for projects and initiatives Supporting the wider finance team during the transition to a new reporting tool (Oracle) The Candidate You may be a Qualified Accountant or Accountant with relevant experience in a financial management role. Ideally you will have worked in a sizeable business and be accustomed to reporting for multiple entities. Experience interacting with a Finance shared service centre would be highly advantageous. You will have a strong controls mentality and have experience managing month-end reporting cycles. Experience of systems change projects would be highly desirable to support the ongoing transformation project within the business. Proven experience in team leadership and strong technical skills are key within this role and expertise using tools such as PowerBI and Excel would be highly desirable.
