If so, come and join EDF as an Electrical Layout Engineer The Opportunity EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is tasked with delivering the design for several nuclear island (NI) buildings, systems, and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C EPR Project. This involves working through an integrated team, supporting HPC construction and commissioning efforts, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C Project. As a result, a Technical Directorate is being established to oversee the engineering disciplines and technical expertise needed to successfully deliver these projects through EPR-E’s integrated teams. As a Plant Layout Engineer within EPR-E’s integrated teams, you’ll ensure technical accuracy in building layouts by managing and verifying input data like process diagrams, equipment specs, and cable lists. You’ll refine layouts by coordinating mechanical and electrical equipment placement, designing routes for cable trays, pipes, and HVAC ducts in 3D with CAD team support, and aligning designs with process diagrams. You’ll also create essential technical documents and design procedures, coordinating layout activities across teams to ensure compliance with layout standards. You will also issue layout drawings to project teams, ensuring compliance with layout standards. Additionally, you’ll monitor and manage requested modifications, proactively address technical issues, prepare engineering reviews, and support design companies in delivering manufacturing-ready layouts. Who you are You’ll bring strong expertise in areas like HVAC and safety, along with a solid understanding of electrical and general layout standards for industrial projects. Your knowledge of nuclear power station operations and key safety considerations, such as flooding, fire protection, and radiological safety will be crucial in this role. You’ll need to be comfortable addressing issues while bringing together diverse stakeholders to find practical solutions that meet everyone’s needs within the HPC integrated team. You should thrive in a challenging technical environment with multiple urgent demands and be adept at seeking clarification from various stakeholders to prioritise effectively, always considering the broader context to make informed decisions that minimise scheduling and cost impacts.
