The Role: We are seeking a Regional Health and Safety Manager to drive safety improvements across our veterinary practices and hospitals. This role will play a key part in fostering a culture of safety and inclusivity, ensuring that operational teams integrate best practices into their daily routines. You will act as a subject matter expert (SME), translating complex legislation into practical, effective solutions. This is a national role that requires regular travel and overnight stays. Key Responsibilities: Health & Safety Leadership: Provide expert guidance and mentorship to Health and Safety Champions across various sites. Safety Culture: Promote a positive H&S culture through engagement, leadership, and best practices. Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure adherence to ISO 45001 principles, industry standards, and statutory inspections (e.g., PUWER, LOLER, Fire Safety, Legionella, Asbestos, etc.). Fire Safety & Risk Assessments: Manage fire actions and conduct desk-based fire safety reviews for Linnaeus properties. Training & Development: Develop and deliver core in-house training to enhance safety awareness across the business. Incident Investigation: Support the investigation of accidents and incidents, making recommendations to prevent recurrence. Audits & Inspections: Conduct occupational health and safety audits to monitor and improve performance. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Clinical Directors, Practice Managers, and operational teams to implement safety measures effectively. Regulatory Compliance: Manage action plans resulting from audits, Enforcing Authority interventions, and fire risk assessments. What We’re Looking For: Essential: Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in a multi-site/multi-disciplinary health and safety role. Qualifications: NEBOSH National Diploma (or equivalent). Tech IOSH membership. NEBOSH Fire or CDM qualification. Knowledge & Skills: Strong understanding of Health, Safety, and Fire regulations. Excellent project management and organisational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Desirable: Chartered IOSH membership (CMIOSH). Experience in veterinary or healthcare settings. Working knowledge of radiation safety within veterinary or medical environments.
