We have an amazing opportunity within our Product Management team for a Category Manager.
This is a full-time role, working hybrid with flexible working in our Leeds city centre office or out of our Head Office based in Howden, East Yorkshire, or a combination of both. We are looking for someone who can commute comfortably to either our Leeds or Howden premises even though we are offering a hybrid working arrangement.
You will be responsible for:
* Leading category growth, working with internal stakeholders & suppliers to develop and execute category growth plans.
* Taking a leadership role in resetting supplier relationships from the ‘transactional’ to the ‘strategic’ to maintain and improve these relationships.
* Working and developing range plans that will appeal to existing Ebuyer customers and the wider Technology customer.
Key responsibilities:
* Cradle to grave management of your categories including new products/ranges and stock management from launch to clearance once obsolete
* Working with the SCB to manage stock levels based on category performance
* Continuously review category performance against budget and wider marketplace, ensure you understand how your categories are currently trading, and how you can build on this to deliver profitable growth.
* Working with the supplier base, to deliver an innovative and profitable product range to meet anticipated customer demand and improve the commercial performance of the Category.
* Identify growth opportunities by analysing shopper data & market trends
* Build a rolling promotional plan and work across functions to deliver strong activities to support promotions
* Leading supplier negotiations and joint business planning for our key strategic partners, to maximise profitability, ensuring that suppliers meet requirements on margin, marketing support and delivery performance.
* Delivering range reviews for your category focused on meeting the needs of our customers and delivering profitable growth.
* Working with Sales and Marketing departments to maximise the success of promotional activity.
* Providing information and analysis to assess levels of slow moving & dormant stock and work with the team to clear. Maintain stock at agreed levels for planned activity and to reduce overstocks.
* Reduce or eliminate all non-value-added activity
You will have:
ESSENTIAL
Experience:
* 3+ years of experience in buying or category management in a retail or E-tail business
* Evidence of delivering profitable growth
* Deep understanding of market insights and how these drive category growth

* Ability to track and report on performance vs targets
