Raw Graduate-Civil Engineer-No experience required!!

They will do this by providing safe, innovative, value engineered solutions for new build foundations that are installed faster than any other suitable method, on time.

As QS Estimator you would join our pre-construction team working under the supervision of the Pre-Construction Director. Duties will be as per job description. This is a role which could develop in to a Site or Project Manager role with a company that develops Engineers and promotes from within
Job Description:
• Take off and measure for foundation and drainage type works surveying from 1st principles.
• Production and pricing of BOQs from client and in house drawings and specifications to estimate project costs and assess the financial, technical and operational risks of the project.
• Checking tender KPI’s, ensuring the most competitive tenders are put forward
• Researching, sourcing, negotiating and obtaining the best prices and quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Write up proposals itemising tender allowances and exclusions, for submittal by the Pre-Construction Director.
• Putting together programme and sequencing to support bid.
• Balance multiple estimations at once, ensuring each reaches the client by the deadline, communicating with the Pre-Construction Director if deadlines cannot be met.
• Ensure that projects requiring repricing are actioned on a timely basis.
• Request credit-checks on companies who have intent to place an order with the company.
• Complete various handovers to other departments within the company, including design, commercial and construction.
• Booking and raising orders for external sub-contractors as and when required.
• Perform value management, variation control and cost control during construction.
Personal Qualities required:
• Attention to detail is critical
• Experience or a keen interest within civil engineering/RC sector.
• Commercially minded individual.

• Strong organisational skills
• Strong IT skills - Microsoft Office essential. (Excel & Word)
• Willing to take ownership of a work task, produce the information required to high standard, within the time scales set

Remuneration
• Salary negotiable dependent on experience
• 25 days holiday, excluding bank holidays with a further allowance to buy or sell 5 days.

• Working hours are 8.30am until 5pm with an hour’s lunch break
