Job summary Working under the direction of the Infant Feeding Coordinator the post holder will be responsible for the provision of breastfeeding promotion to prospective and new parents to increase the initiation and duration of breastfeeding for those mothers for whom breastfeeding is their preferred method. Main duties of the job Provide one to one support both in a home setting, over the phone and within Children's Centres for parents who choose to breastfeed to encourage mothers to breastfeed for longer. To facilitate antenatal, postnatal and ongoing support and an opportunity for health promotion. Contribute to the promotion of a positive breastfeeding culture, working with partner agencies to increase awareness with local groups. Carry out audits with parents around their chosen feeding method.
