About Job:
Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be a strong communicator and influential leader, capable of driving the site's journey toward health and safety excellence. Thriving in a fast-paced environment with daily challenges, the Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager will play a pivotal role in fostering a culture where safety remains the top priority for all.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement a three-year Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) strategy in collaboration with the Health & Safety Advisor.
* Mentor and support the company’s Health & Safety Advisor, who is currently undertaking the NEBOSH qualification, fostering their professional growth.
* Work closely with key stakeholders across the site to identify and mitigate risks in partnership with the Health & Safety Advisor.
* Establish and maintain standard HSE operating procedures, including COSHH assessments and risk assessments.
* Provide expert guidance to senior managers on best practices related to health, safety, and environmental compliance.
* Develop, implement, and deliver training on accident investigation procedures, ensuring compliance with HSE regulations (including RIDDOR).
* Lead and manage the monthly Health & Safety Committee, ensuring all actions are effectively implemented.
* Conduct regular safety audits, supported by the Health & Safety Advisor, to maintain compliance and drive continuous improvement.
* Establish and oversee health and safety focus groups among production and warehouse employees to enhance engagement and awareness.
* Design, implement, and monitor a comprehensive site-wide health and safety training program.
About You:
* A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a Health & Safety Consultant within a manufacturing environment.
* Level 3 or higher Health & Safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.
* An environmental qualification is required.
* Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a close-knit team.
* Experience with ATEX regulations is desirable but not essential.
