At Honda we embrace inclusion in our various policies, so whilst our contracts state that the hours are as required to fulfil the role with a minimum of 35 hours per week, we offer flexibility for when you work. The regular office hours are 08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a half hour lunch break & 08:00 – 13:00 on a Friday. However, we offer flexibility of when you work with our daily flex-time start of between 07:00 and 11:00 providing that there is no business requirement. Whilst there is no contractual right to work from home, the flexibility we offer is that you can request to work from home 2 days per week, again providing there is no business requirement to attend the office. Role The Finance Systems Department Manager is responsible for operational management, governance and continuous improvement of the Finance Systems across the PAN-E organisation. The role holder ensures integrity, security and usability of the finance related applications whilst supporting business users in their day-to-day systems interactions. The role focuses on business system administration, users’ system support, data governance, maintenance activities to ensure finance systems operate efficiently and reliably. You will work alongside Finance operational HQ teams and IS Technical support to provide processes training, technical and integration support. Main Responsibilities Operations Lead a team of Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) responsible for the business administration of the Finance Systems and Finance Master Data Management. Manage the finance master data governance processes to ensure compliance and governance. Manage the Business System support, maintenance and continuous improvement of the Finance Systems. Role Authorisation and Access Management Design and ensure appropriate role design across Finance systems, in alignment with security policies and internal controls. Manage role-based access to maintain data security and compliance with regulatory requirements. Work alongside Operations to align system roles to business roles. Data Management Manage data integrity and consistency across Finance Systems. Collaborate with Operations and IT teams to ensure compliance with data governance standards (Retention, archiving, anonymisation etc…). User Training Develop and maintain system training documentation, leveraging standard vendors materials. Work alongside Project Teams to develop and update materials, in line with projects functionalities. Develop training strategy, delivering efficiency using self-service model. User Support Act as the second level of support for Finance Systems errors and issues. First level supported by Finance Operational teams, following procedures and documentations. Investigate, diagnose and coordinate resolution of system-related errors with IT and external vendors. Implement system improvements to reduce recurring issues and enhance system stability. Systems upgrades Strategic planning of the deployment of on-premises/SaaS system upgrades and patches, in coordination with Operational and IT teams. Plan and organise regression testing activities to ensure updates do not negatively impact critical business processes. Monitor systems post-upgrades and address emergency issues in coordination with IT. Change management Support Finance Operational Teams with inputs, plan and prioritise systems functionalities, in line to capacity. Ensure consistency of system design and templates across various Finance workstreams. Team Management Build a strong team with relevant expertise, providing training & mentoring for team members and identify development opportunities. Risk and compliance Lead Audit related to Finance Systems business management. Own and approve finance system role authorization policies. Budget Own the Finance Systems cost centre, plan for required maintenance, continuous improvement and upgrade related costs, with IT and service providers. Qualifications, skills and experience: Required/Desirable Bachelor’s degree in finance, Information Systems or related fields. System and Project Management certifications advantageous. Demonstratable experience in finance systems administration, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) management, or finance technology support. Technical Skills Finance Systems Expertise: Strong knowledge of financial systems, ERP solutions (SAP, Oracle, Workday, etc.), and reporting tools. User Role & Access Management: Experience managing system authorizations, access rights, and security protocols. Data Integrity & Governance: Ability to enforce data consistency, validation, and compliance best practices. System Testing & Upgrades: Knowledge of regression testing methodologies and system version control. Incident Management & Troubleshooting: Ability to handle Level 2 business errors and work with IT to resolve technical issues. Business & Analytical Skills Finance & Accounting Knowledge: Understanding of core finance functions and how systems support business processes. Problem-Solving: Ability to analyse system issues, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions. Continuous Improvement Mindset: Experience in optimizing finance system operations and enhancing user experience. Soft Skills Stakeholder Management: Ability to work with finance teams, IT, and external vendors. Training & Communication: Strong ability to train and support business users with clear, non-technical explanations. Project Coordination: Experience in coordinating system-related projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy when managing system configurations, data integrity, and security settings.
