Job overview
As a courier, you will transport pharmacy items, goods, equipment, correspondence, and stores, together with urine, blood, and other bodily fluids, tissue samples between hospitals, health centres, clinics, and GP surgeries across the Trust area. Due to the nature of the specimens and confidential paperwork carried, it is essential that the courier drivers adhere to very tight schedules.
You must have a high awareness of the department’s assets, which may be used in carrying out daily duties. Participation in a rota system covering any shift required by the Management is also necessary.
Main duties of the job
* Transport pharmacy items, goods, equipment, correspondence, and stores, along with urine, blood, and other bodily fluids, tissue samples between hospitals, health centres, clinics, GP surgeries, and patient home addresses across the Trust area.
* Adhere to very tight schedules due to the nature of the specimens and confidential paperwork carried.
* Participate in a rota system covering any shift required by the Management.
* Collect pharmacy items and deliver them in a timely manner to home addresses and surgeries across the Trust area.
Working for our organisation
There are 5 set courier rounds and 4 TTA delivery rounds, working out of the Transport department, which is constantly evolving to provide the best service possible.
