About us
Stocklake Park School is part of the Vale Federation of Special Schools together with the primary school, Booker Park. We offer educational provision for students with complex learning difficulties, from 11 to 19 years of age. Our vision as a Federation is to provide a supportive but challenging multi-professionals approach to the education of all the young people in our care, enabling them to achieve the greatest possible level of independence and inclusion.
Reporting directly to the Head of School, the purpose of the role is to improve the life outcomes and opportunities for school-aged students and their families by providing a range of family support interventions and activities. The Family Support Officer will meet parents and families new to the school to identify any support that may be needed. They will deliver focused family support to improve the social, emotional development and health of pupils and their families. As part of the Safeguarding team, you will work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead and heads of departments to keep students safe, help them achieve their full learning potential, and support families in engaging with their children’s learning, development, and well-being.
About you

You will take an active role in building effective relationships with students and their families and will be prepared to work hard to enable them to thrive and be the best they can. Liaising with relevant professionals and outside agencies, attending core group and child protection meetings, case conferences, and multi-agency meetings is a key part of the role as is working closely with staff, planning, and delivering safeguarding training in order to achieve best outcomes for the students.
