Job Description
As Head of Supply Chain you will be responsible for the management of Supply Chain resources across the UK to ensure the skills, capability, and processes needed to support the business’s financial and strategic goals. You will also work closely with the Operations Director for long-term people development, process and technology deployment, and agree on the supply and demand of resources within the business unit.
During your first few months in this Supply Chain Management role, you can expect to take on some of the following:
1. Develop and implement the SCM strategy to ensure it meets the business requirements and customer deliverables, as well as ensure the departmental performance against goals
2. Ensure that the supply chain department meets or improves on budget, cost, and efficiency targets (KPIs) in line with business objectives
3. Manage and promote key supplier relationships and collaboration
4. Deliver clear leadership and direction to the supply chain team to engender a customer and delivery-focused approach
5. Be a single point of contact for the business unit for material budgets, UMC, MEAC – ETC information
Qualifications
To apply for this Head of Supply Chain position, your soft skills, expertise, and experience should include:
6. Experience in procurement and subcontract management in a technical engineering environment. Defence and or aerospace sector would be preferential.
7. Experience of managing teams based in multiple locations
8. Experience working in the tactical environment (what needs to be done now to achieve the current business aims) and the strategic environment (establishing and aligning the team around strategic objectives and goals)
9. Strong negotiation skills
10. Leadership through influence and effective conflict resolution
11. Strong financial experience
12. Strong communication skills from the front end to the boardroom
Additional Information
As Head of Supply Chain you will manage teams based in our Hastings and Oakdale sites as such there is an expectation that regular time based on both sites will be expected. As such the successful candidate could be based at either site location or from home with travel - we are open to discussions and aim to be as flexible as possible.
The salary for this position is £74,400 to £93,000 plus our flexible benefits package.
