This role will sit onsite at Mildenhall Air Base, UK. This position plan and coordinate the schedule with Fighter Wings (FW), Fighter Squadrons (FS), Rescue Squadrons (RQSs), and Air Refueling Wings across the U.S. military to bring air-to-air refueling opportunities to on-station aircraft, incorporating required changes due to aircraft availability, weather limitations, aircrew medical issues, flight evaluation requirements, expiring event currencies, deployments and student training continuity. Furthermore, overseas locations require additional Host Nation (HN) coordination and localized procedures. Adapt quickly to changing circumstances in a medium-to- high stress environment. Plan and coordinate the schedule, incorporating required changes due to aircraft availability, weather limitations, aircrew medical issues, flight evaluation requirements, expiring event currencies, deployments and student training continuity. Perform these activities IAW Air Force Instruction (AFI) 10-420. Coordinate with the training officer, Weapons Officers, Flight Commanders (Flt CCs),Squadron Aviation Resource Management (SARM), UDM, and Operations Officer (DO) to arrange a schedule to facilitate operations, qualifications, upgrades, testing, exercises,and continuation training accomplishments to meet required currency and progression standards, IAW DO priorities. Coordinate with the Weapons Officer or DO for aircraft configurations two weeks prior and ensure Ops/MX/Ammo synchronization. Build long- and short-range shift plans to ensure full coverage of all aircrew, instructor,evaluator, support personnel, and supervisor positions. Coordinate with senior squadron leadership on a daily and weekly basis IAW local procedures. Keep track when crewmembers will be on leave, temporary duty, medical appointments, designated on Duty Not Involving Flying (DNIF) status and/or other commitments. De-conflict crew-member calendars and work with flight leadership to ensure crews are available to meet assigned sortie tasking. Ensure 100% accountability for aircrew inputs and coordinate with Flt/CCs to receive/integrate late inputs. Track daily flight/ground/academic training requirements and accomplishments as directed by the operations officer. Keep in mind aircrew experience to mitigate Operational Risk Management (ORM). Report updates to squadron and wing leadership. Obtain aircraft and equipment availability data from maintenance (MX) and coordinate crewmembers for training, exercises, simulators, and operations, as required. Be responsible for flying change requests (AF IMT 2407) driven by operations requirements. Publish/post training/exercise data for unit long-/short-range ground/academic, flying, and simulator training events on the Government directed computer database system. In coordination with the squadron leadership with COR guidance, determine student progression, weather, and daily equipment/training range availability. Coordinate with Operations Support Squadron (OSS) Plans department, outside agencies/exercise participants and higher headquarters, for example: RED FLAG, GREEN FLAG, Weapons School support, for reporting and to facilitate exercise/special event coordination. Provide inputs to OSS Scheduling office and update daily Supervisor of Flying (SOF) and Top 3 as required. Correlate sortie length and airspace requirements with syllabus requirements. Attend weekly special use airspace meeting for coordination and de-confliction. Request night low fly areas with appropriate lead time to ensure low fly structure is available as needed for night flying. Attend weekly planning/coordinating airspace restrictions meeting for coordination and de-confliction. Attend monthly range use meetings for coordination and de-confliction. Conduct final range use coordination IAW local and/or Host Nation procedures Create, submit and file AF Form 1801s, Diplomatic Clearances (DIPs), Altitude Reservations (ALTRV), and any other Host Nation or local procedure forms required for flying operations. Contact appropriate agencies to ensure short notice DIP clearances are provided as required. Assist the DO in coordinating input for the unit Annual Flying Hour Program. Represent unit requirements as required at airspace/range users’ conferences. Produce and disseminate scheduling effectiveness reports (weekly wrap-up) IAW local standards. US Citizen; active Secret security clearance. Master's degree in a related field and 3 years of recent specialized experience; OR Bachelor's degree in a related field and 6 years of recent specialized experience; OR 10 years of recent specialized experience. Intermediate-level proficiency in the use/application of Microsoft Office products (i.e. Microsoft Access, Excel, and SharePoint) Experience working in a MAF Squadron/Group/Wing office is highly desirable. Experience working with scheduling program is highly desirable. Experience working in a squadron-level or higher commander, directors, and/or support staff is highly desirable.
