Main Purpose of the role We are seeking an Accounts Payable Team Leader to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for both assisting and overseeing the accounts payable department, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, managing vendor relationships, and maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures. Primary Responsibilities To undertake all tasks within your level of skill and ability that are commensurate with the post. Manage the accounts payable team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations. Both oversee and perform the daily operations of the accounts payable department, including invoice processing, payment disbursements, statement reconciliations, account reconciliations, expense and vendor management. Ensure timely and accurate processing of all accounts payable transactions. Develop and implement accounts payable policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy. Manage vendor relationships, including both resolving and preventing future issues or discrepancies. Monitor and analyse accounts payable aging reports to ensure timely payments and identify any potential issues. Prepare and review accounts payable reports for management, including the use of KPIs to improve efficiency and accuracy Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments. Train and mentor accounts payable staff, providing guidance and support as needed. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls. Assist with the annual audit process, providing necessary documentation and support. Assist the financial accounting team where necessary. Conduct regular audits of accounts payable processes to identify areas for improvement. Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes related to accounts payable.
