Role Overview:
* Position: Senior Occupational Therapist
* Team: Multi-disciplinary team providing specialist care
Primary Responsibilities:
* Conduct specialist assessments and provide therapeutic interventions to detained males within the LD/ASD (Learning Disabilities/Autism Spectrum Disorder) service line.
* Supervise other members of the occupational therapy team.
* Contribute to service development and improvement.
* Support risk assessment and risk management processes in the context of occupational therapy.
* Act as a positive role model in promoting the value of occupation in therapeutic care.
* Uphold the core values of the healthcare organisation in practice.
Skills and Experience Required:
* Experience: Proven experience as an Occupational Therapist, ideally with a focus on individuals with learning disabilities and neurodiversity.
* Background in working within secure or specialist environments (e.g., medium secure settings) would be advantageous.
Skills & Knowledge:
* Strong understanding of occupational therapy's role in risk assessment and management.
* Ability to supervise and lead a team of occupational therapy professionals.
* Knowledge and experience in contributing to service development and improvements.
* Expertise in providing therapeutic interventions for detained patients, particularly those with complex mental health needs and neurodiversity.
