Proposal Engineer | Great Yarmouth | Permanent | Competitive Salary (DOE) Position1 Recruitment is partnering with a leading supplier of power systems, equipment, and services to a wide range of industries, including oil and gas, marine, renewables, mining, agriculture, and construction. Based in Great Yarmouth, they are looking for a Proposal Engineer to join their team. As a Proposal Engineer, you will play a key role in managing all enquiries relating to equipment primarily used in process and pipeline operations. This includes developing scope, providing quotations, and maintaining technical communication with customers. Key responsibilities: - Work within a small, dynamic team to coordinate various aspects of engineering, including design, planning, and cost estimation for the company's packages. - Develop system designs, P&ID, and GA drawings in collaboration with other team members. - Handle the development of design, materials handling, manpower requirements, cost analysis, and more. - Produce technical and commercial proposals for conceptual, budget, and firm opportunities. - Provide engineering support and technical solutions. - Review and interpret project specifications, standards, regulations, and requirements. - Obtain and review supplier quotations while building strong working relationships with suppliers’ technical and commercial teams. - Collaborate with internal discipline engineers to ensure proposals meet client specifications and standards. - Build relationships with clients and contractors during the bid development stages. - Attend Bid Clarification and Project Kick-off Meetings as required. Requirements (Proposal Engineer): - Previous experience in compiling cost estimates for mechanical packages (essential). - Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken (essential). - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams) (essential). - Ability to work effectively within a team, under pressure, and with a sense of urgency. - Experience with the design of oil and gas industrial field equipment (e.g., Nitrogen Pumps, Fluid Pumps) is desirable. - SolidWorks/CAD design experience (desirable). - A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role (desirable). - Knowledge of equipment manufacturing compliance, DNV offshore certification requirements, and ATEX/Hazardous Area equipment compliance (desirable). Qualifications: - Ideally, you will hold an HND or equivalent in Engineering, though equivalent experience in a similar field will also be considered. - A formal project management qualification is advantageous, but not essential.
