Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging lessons in Science to students of all abilities across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to cater to the diverse learning needs of our students.
Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students, providing regular feedback to students and parents.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active learning and fosters intellectual curiosity.
Collaborate with colleagues in the Science department to develop and share best practices and resources.
Participate in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, and professional development activities.
Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and school events.
Person Specification:
Essential:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in Science or a related subject.
Proven experience of teaching Science at secondary level, with a track record of successful student outcomes.
Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, with the ability to teach one or more of these subjects at A-Level.
Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage and inspire students.
Commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to contribute to the school’s wider activities.
Desirable:
Experience with the UK National Curriculum and familiarity with GCSE and A-Level specifications.
Ability to integrate technology effectively into teaching and learning.
Experience in leading or supporting extracurricular activities related to Science.
