* This post may require attendance at meetings and events outside normal working hours and work with housing support staff who are working unsociable hours; therefore, a flexible working pattern within the hours for the post will be necessary.
* Will be working in a lone working capacity on occasions.
* Will be required to work across Shropshire to provide support to staff on joint visits to customers in Temporary Accommodation.
* Required to hold a valid driver's license and always have access to a vehicle. Alternative arrangements will be discussed with disabled applicants.
* During a Pandemic, Epidemic or Major Incident or Emergency you may be asked to work from home or other location and on occasion to undertake duties that are not stated in your Job Description or Person Specification where there is a skill, competency, and experience match.
* GCSE Grade 4-6 (including Math's and English) or equivalent.
Desirable:
* Health and Safety qualifications and/or experience.
* Security qualifications and/or experience.
* Maintenance qualification and/or experience.
* First Aid qualification/willingness to undertake.

Essential:
* Experience of dealing with welfare/well-being of others.
* Porter/Caretaking/security or similar type of experience.
* Experience of solving problems in a logical, analytical way.
* Ability to demonstrate an organised approach to day-to-day premises/property operations.
* Experience of working with a wide variety of people.
* Experience of responding to premises/property needs/incidents.
* Experience of health and safety procedures such as fire evacuations, equipment, and premises checks.
* Experience of working within a team setting and lone working.
* Managing, recording & reporting on incident/fault/H&S/Security and general property and building maintenance areas.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of industrial cleaning standards and products and the relevant Health & Safety guidelines, policies and procedures including COSHH regulations.
* Ability to demonstrate a proactive organised approach to tenancy management and maintenance.
* Experience of coordinating health and safety procedures such as fire evacuations, equipment, and premises checks.
* Ability to demonstrate continuous improvement.
* Experience of working with homeless people and understanding homelessness.
Specialist Skills and Abilities Method of Assessment: D, I
Essential:
* Experience of signposting/working with colleagues and agencies to provide well-being support to others.
* Experience of workplace premises/building operations.
* Experience of using IT skills including Microsoft Office.
* To be calm under pressure.
* Conflict resolution.
Desirable:
* Experience of premises security and security systems i.e. key issuing/CCTV in a residential setting.
* Ability to offer initial response in emergency situations.
Personal Skills and Attributes Method of Assessment: D, I
Essential:
* Communicates clearly and effectively with others including colleagues, visitors, service users, contractors, support services, and suppliers.
* Proactive, flexible and 'can do' approach to problem solving, repairs, maintenance, and well-being of others.
* Ability to follow logical processes yet use initiative if required.
* Ability to carry out physically demanding tasks - e.g. lifting.
* Willingness to participate in training and development linked to role.
Desirable:
* Experience of working in a similar residential setting.
* Experience of providing support.
