Payroll Manager (Maternity Cover, 12-month FTC)

Description
To support our Payroll team through a period of maternity leave, we are seeking a Payroll Manager on a 12-month fixed term basis. As Payroll Manager, you will lead our dynamic Payroll team to ensure payroll is processed accurately and to appropriate deadlines, whilst conducting various other payroll-related duties, including reporting, workload distribution, and managing enquiries. You will be a natural leader with the ability to manage the rest of the team to succession, whilst forming excellent relationships with the wider finance team to support them when required.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accurately prepare and process monthly payrolls to appropriate deadlines.
2. Manage and process calculations for amendments, adjustments, deductions, holiday pay, and statutory payments.
3. Payroll-related administration, including processing new starters/leavers, benefits, P11Ds, Statutory Leave and pay including SSP, SMP, and SPP.
4. Being a point of contact for employees for all payroll-related queries and issues.
5. Managing Pension administration to ensure compliance is adhered to.
6. Conducting year-end routines including P60s and P11Ds.
7. Integrating acquired businesses and ensuring that TUPE has been considered.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
1. Demonstrable experience within an end-to-end Payroll management role (essential).
2. A strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax, and PAYE.
3. An understanding of pension processing (desirable).
4. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines.
