Machine Operative
Location: Castleford, WF10Salary: £12.30Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.

We specialise in designing, manufacturing, hiring and selling temporary works solutions. At MGF, we manufacture our equipment, operate our own transport fleet and have an in-house engineering team who produce design solutions to meet customers’ requirements.
With 14 depots nationwide and over 450 passionate members of our team, we're expanding. Each team member plays a crucial role in this success, and we need your help as a Machine Operative to continue delivering exceptional results.
Your Role:
Reporting to the Depot Foreman, you'll be responsible for setting up, operating, loading, and unloading our heavy duty reroll machine.
Your Main Responsibilities Will Include:
Planning machining by studying work orders and engineering drawings
Programming and running CNC machines
Operating saws, drills and overhead cranes, carrying out flame cutting and grinding as needed
Maintaining equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements;
Following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs
Proactively working with all colleagues to ensure we deliver the highest level of customer service on a consistent basis
Ensuring MGF Management Systems are adhered to within your area of responsibility
Documenting actions by completing production log
Providing accurate and timely information as required by the Company
General assistance in the depot/ Company when required
Maintaining an effective and positive relationship with other depots/ departments
There will be moving and lifting of heavy good and materials, but Manual Handling Training will be provided.
To Achieve This, You Will Need:
IT competence for programming of the roll forming line as well as checking and logging daily production figures
Experience within a busy yard environment
Good appreciation of Health & Safety
Experience working in a team environment
FLT experience (Desirable)
