Associate Archivist, Sound and Film, National Railway Museum, UK
We have a new vacancy for an archivist to work with us at the National Railway Museum to manage our archive of sound and film materials. We believe there is massive, relatively untapped potential in this area and there is scope for you to have a real impact in the way we manage and access this collection. You will be a part of a wider, supportive team, working alongside curatorial colleagues as well as library and archive staff, at an exciting point in the Museum's development. We have an ambitious vision for the future to develop our approach in how we tell the stories of the railway.
Position: Associate Archivist - Sound and Film (£20-23k, fixed term, full time)
Responsibilities:
1. Manage the archive of sound and film materials.
2. Work with a supportive team alongside curatorial colleagues and library and archive staff.
3. Develop approaches to tell the stories of the railway.
Qualifications:
1. Professional qualification in archives administration.
2. Demonstrable knowledge of working with sound and film archives.
3. Experience managing or working with sound and film archive collections in various media and formats, including digital.
4. Experience in transferring material into different formats and understanding associated technological equipment.
