Clynfyw Care Farm is recruiting a new Registered Manager to help us in our commitment to delivering person-centered high-quality care in a unique environment. If you’re looking for a rewarding job in a supportive, values-driven organisation that puts people first, there’s never been a better time to join us.
Start Date: Ideally, 2nd June 2025 (or as near as possible)
About Us
Running since the mid-1980s as an accessible holiday provider, Clynfyw has evolved to become permanent home to up to ten adults with mild and moderate learning disabilities. Around 25 other people also attend the Day Service each week. We have a staff team of 35-40 and our aim is to get better at what we do, rather than get bigger.
We have run as a domiciliary care agency since 2015 our recent CIW reports can be found here: CIW Reports.
If you look for ‘Clynfyw’ on Youtube you will see our different films made over the years. It is a fun, vibrant place to be, supporting people to lead a positive, interesting and happy life as possible.
We have won numerous awards over the years from the Queens Award for Enterprise (in 2004 and 2022) to Rural Diversification Awards in 2019. Clynfyw is an exceptional place to be.
Our Values
Our values reflect us all and they’re at the heart of everything we do. They set out our culture, the way we behave and the way we do things.
Our colleagues are passionate, kind and resilient and they go the extra mile for the people we support and each other. We have this expectation of all our colleagues. As a leader, you’ll embody our values in action and inspire and motivate your teams to do the same.
Role Overview
You, as Registered Manager, would be part of a small Management Team of people who care. A team player is essential, but also someone with the ability to work alone.
You would be supported by a Cottage Supervisor who has been at Clynfyw for ten years, starting as an apprentice, and you would report to the General Managers, Jim Bowen and Paul Philips, who have decades of experience of working in social care in Pembrokeshire. Former advocate Paul ensures that advocacy is at the heart of the service, while Jim is involved in many community-based projects to help ensure Clynfyw is outward looking and not a ‘disability ghetto’.
You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of care, support and culture, team leadership, compliance (with company and regulatory requirements), and the overall efficiency and sustainable performance of your service.
You will ensure our policies and procedures, risk assessments and care plans are up to date and compatible with latest legislation. You will support people through annual reviews with local authorities, meet the commitments of the Care Inspectorate of Wales and Social Care Wales and write (brief) bi-monthly reports for the Clynfyw Board of Directors.
You will work positively to develop relationships with key stakeholders to deliver great outcomes for the people we support, our colleagues, the organisation overall and therefore the wider community.
Quality
You’ll ensure the people we support have great experiences and outcomes through leading practice and driving quality experiences through highly effective governance.
Clynfyw currently works to the Social Farms and Gardens ‘Green Care Quality Mark-Quality Assurance Certificate’ but are looking to improve our quality assurance to include Investors in People and other measures.
