Path Links is a networked Pathology service offering a wide range of diagnostic investigations on tissue, blood, and fluid samples. All Path Links laboratories are accredited to national United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) ISO 15189:2012 standards.
Regular assessments by external auditors from UKAS assess laboratory compliance with the published standards and ensure that the service provided meets the needs and requirements of users. A fundamental component of the Path Links quality framework is the application and integration of Lean principles, together with other continuous improvement tools, to all aspects of service provision across the organisation.
Main duties of the job
The Phlebotomist will join the Pathology Phlebotomy team and will rotate between the Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) and the hospital. They will provide services to Wards and run outpatient clinics, providing blood tests to Primary and secondary care patients within the CDC and hospital setting.
The phlebotomist will be responsible for following the trust policies and standard operating procedures for sample collection, sample preparation, labelling and receipting samples into the laboratory IT system.

Person Specification
Educational
* Good general education and must be numerate and literate with a good command of written English
Occupational experience
* Good Communication
* Manual Dexterity and ability to prioritise work to deadlines
* Experience of the NHS or a caring environment
* Previous phlebotomy experience
