This is an exciting opportunity for a team player to join the Rheumatology department in this new role to help manage patients across both our hospital sites. The successful post holder will be required to provide a combination of support and administration duties in the delivery of services for patients with Rheumatology conditions, making a positive and direct contribution to the work of the Rheumatology team.
We are looking for an experienced individual with excellent computer, administration and communication skills who works well as a team member whilst being able to use own initiative.
Initially, the successful candidate will be required to work one day per week at YDH (Tuesdays) with the remaining time at MPH in line with current service needs however this may change as the role develops over time.
Main duties of the job
The role is an integral part of the Rheumatology service to enable tracking, developing and monitoring the pathways of care for patients who are on biologic treatments ensuring an effective process is followed. The successful candidate will be required to liaise with patients, pharmacy, GPs, home care providers and clinicians to ensure that patients are safely monitored and receive their treatment without delay or interruption. You will be flexible to cover all duties, organising own day to day work, multitasking as necessary to support the administration of the biologic pathway, associated clinical activity and maintain the patient database.
Working as a member of the Rheumatology team the post holder will provide a combination of support and administrative duties in the delivery of services for patients with severe rheumatology conditions, making a direct and positive contribution to the work of the team.
The post holder must exercise initiative and judgement when dealing with patient enquiries, requests, prescriptions, referrals, and results, and be able to prioritize importance accordingly.
The post holder will have responsibility for the organization and delivery of the weekly multidisciplinary team meetings and follow up outcomes requiring action. They will ensure all communication is fully completed and shared where required.
