We are looking for an experienced nurse with good clinical skills and a passion for teaching health-related tasks to non-registered staff and NHS support workers who deliver care to young people in Kent County Council Children's residential Short Breaks Units.
You will be part of an integrated team within a joint Health and Social Services Short Breaks Units for children and young people aged 5-25 years with learning disabilities and complex health needs, providing up-to-date and evidence-based teaching and assessment of clinical skills competency to KCC support staff.
As a Practice Educator, you will be responsible for delivering and facilitating in-house clinical skills training to both Social Care Staff, as dictated by the health needs of the children and young people accessing the service.
You will ensure staff are able to carry out clinical procedures supported through training and competency attainment and provide ongoing advice for staff to feel confident to carry out their role safely.
In addition, you will provide teaching, assessing, and support within the team to ensure they are competent to deliver efficient and safe care to the children and young people and work collaboratively and effectively with all other healthcare professionals and those allied to health and social care involved with the children and families.
