Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to become a Health Care Assistant in the Multidisciplinary Assessment Service (MuDAS Unit). We are a Day Unit open Monday - Friday that provides comprehensive Geriatric Assessment to patients out in the community. Additionally we have an IVI lounge. The aim of the unit is to avoid admission in the acute settings.
What will we give you? Once in post you will be on the road to develop and enhance your skills. We offer each individual an induction in our team with a period of supernumerary, which is usually up to 2 weeks. You will also attend the Trust Induction Programme; this encompasses all facets of Buckinghamshire Health NHS Trust, and the lived experience of what you will do, giving you an insight in the organisation.

Main duties of the job
1. Communicate with patients and their visitors in order to promote their comfort and well-being
2. Communication with other members of the organisation and respond appropriately
3. Assist with admission, transfer and discharge of patients.
4. Carry out assessment including observations, ECG, weight of the patients and documentation as required.
5. Make unoccupied beds and occupied beds.
6. Assist patients out of bed, helping with dressing and undressing as required
7. Wash/bathe patients in bed and in the bathroom as required.
8. Care of hands and feet of patients in bed.
9. Observe patients' skin and report any red marks or blemishes to nursing staff in charge.
10. Assist with manual handling and transferring of patients complying with the Trust
11. Moving and Handling policy
12. Under direction of trained nurse, assist with the treatment/management of patients.
13. Report Accidents/incidents to nurse in charge and complete appropriate Trust forms.
14. Chaperone Medical Staff.
15. Assist administrator/receptionist with answering phone calls, organising patients notes, calling patients for appointments .
16. Providing/assisting patients with light lunch, jug of water and teas and coffees.
