Manufacturing Engineer Role
Your role as a Manufacturing Engineer will consist of:
* Working as part of a wider team in the Defence & Aerospace sector to provide information to the shop floor to enable efficient manufacturing of component parts. Understanding the use of CAD is essential in this role, as is a good understanding of the processes involved in kitting and manufacturing components. Attention to detail and a methodical approach are also important attributes.
Manufacturing Engineer's Duties:
1. Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice engineering.
2. Create manufacturing work instructions & visual aids (lay-up/assembly manuals).
3. Interrogate customer drawings and CAD data to produce ply templates, foam kits, etc.
4. Devise innovative manufacturing solutions.
5. Anticipate and overcome manufacturing challenges.
6. Create Part Numbers, Routings, BOMs on our MRP system in line with customer/process requirements.
7. Manage configuration control on projects you are accountable for.
8. Design mould tools, assembly fixtures, & manufacturing aids when required.
9. Assist with cost estimation on new projects.
10. Identify and implement improvement opportunities within the organization.
11. Contribute proactively to creating a good team atmosphere.
12. Liaise with customers & suppliers as required.
13. Support and ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, Quality and Environmental standards, and all other Company policies and procedures.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
* Strong understanding of industry best practices in manufacturing processes and procedures.
* Strong working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD.
* Experience with Lean Manufacturing techniques.
