Job summary The post holder will be exposed to all aspects of adult neuro-oncological surgery and would be expected to take the lead in running the neuro-oncology firm as much as the on call rota allows. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a unit with 3 neuro-oncology surgeons carrying out routine neuro-oncological surgery in addition to awake craniotomies, intraoperative asleep neurophysiological monitoring/mapping, and 5-ALA fluorescence guided resections. Main duties of the job The post holder will be expected to: Participate in the surgery and daily ward follow up for tumour cases. Attend weekly Neuro-oncology MDTs and clinics Participate in ongoing audit in relation to neuro-oncology, active involvement in the departmental teaching and publish in a subspecialty journal during the fellowship. Participate in the recruitment and data entry into national trials All Consultants do elective degenerative spinal work and the post-holder will be expected to participate in this as needed including at Castle Hill Hospital.
