What's involved with this role: Interim Asbestos Surveyor - Repairs & Maintenance Job Ref: NNC (HQ) NNC19740 Pay Rate: £23.08 per hour PAYE Hours per week: 37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours Role Length: This opening assignment is for 6 months City: CORBY Mainly site based – Corby / Kettering area, with occasional office presence required (Office Corby) Ensure financial compliance with the Council procedures. Maintain work procedures and systems which ensure that an effective, efficient and accountable service is delivered. Ensure your service area responsibilities are properly coordinated across work areas and fit for purpose in order to meet both the Councils and its customers expectations. Key Responsibilities: Undertake asbestos surveys, prepare asbestos reports, tender documentation, specifications and technical information. Prepare reports under the direction of the Team Leader. Support the Team Leader in developing best value partnerships with contractors. Attending site meetings and liaising with Contractor management and supervisory staff. Manage pre and post inspection and ensure appropriate records and audit trail are kept Provide asbestos technical support for NNC tradesmen and contractors. Audit van impress stock at regular intervals and keep records. Plan and monitor the performance of your area of responsibility, using agreed Performance Indicators to include all areas of work. Ensure effective systems of communication are established and managed to promote a high level of Services and their benefits to customers. Provide professional advice and recommendations to enable the council to maintain compliance with relevant health and safety, building and environmental legislation. Qualifications: P402 Building Surveys and Bulk Sampling for Asbestos or equivalent Good general education to GCSE level or equivalent. BTec level III or equivalent in one of the following, Building, Electrical, Plumbing, Gas studies or Stock Control Knowledge: Familiar with budget performance and monitoring - desirable Experience: Experience with AutoCad Design Software - desirable Minimum of 2 years on site supervisory experience - desirable Conduct stock condition surveys including EPC, HHSRS, and Fire risk assessments - desirable Experience of contractual procedures using standard forms of contract - desirable Local Government background - desirable Skills & Abilities: Able to deal with confidential and sensitive information.
