Gas Service/Breakdown Engineer Red Rock Consultants are partnering with a leading provider of gas services to recruit an experienced Gas Service/Breakdown Engineer/Supervisor. This mobile role will involve travel across the West Midlands, primarily covering Birmingham and Coventry, with additional responsibilities in Warwick, Hereford, and Northampton. The successful candidate will be responsible for the service, maintenance, and repair of gas appliances in both commercial and domestic properties. Position Details: Job Title: Gas Service/Breakdown Engineer/Supervisor Location: Mobile role (West Midlands coverage) Salary: Competitive Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours per week) Key Responsibilities: Diagnosing and repairing boiler faults in commercial and domestic settings. Performing routine servicing, safety checks, and repairs to ensure compliance with gas and oil safety regulations. Responding to service and reactive breakdowns efficiently, ensuring a high first-time fix rate. Assessing additional repair requirements and liaising with management as necessary. Delivering excellent customer service and maintaining clear communication with tenants and clients. Ensuring all work is carried out in line with industry standards and safety regulations. Managing company tools, vehicle, and uniform, maintaining them in good working condition. Participating in site audits, vehicle checks, post-work inspections, quotations, and engineers’ meetings. Supporting the emergency call-out rota as required. Candidate Requirements: Recognised gas apprenticeship and relevant commercial gas certifications: (ACS – CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1, CDGA1, CIGA1, TPCP1, TPCP1A). Experience in commercial gas servicing, fault finding, maintenance, and repairs. Ability to use test equipment, including an electrical multi-meter. Full UK driving licence. Desirable: A flexible approach to travel across the West & East Midlands and beyond as required. Willingness to work additional hours when necessary, with overtime payable. Strong communication and customer service skills. A self-motivated, proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and within a team.
