We are seeking to appoint an inspiring and well qualified classroom teacher, from September 2025, to join a very successful Art & Photography department. Art & Photography are popular subjects at the school and there is a thirst for learning amongst the pupils. It is desirable to be able to teach both subjects, but this is not essential as there is some flexibility within the department.
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and organised teacher with a good knowledge of the subjects. It is essential to be able to teach the full age and ability range up to GCSE. Ideally, the successful candidate would be able to teach both subjects to ‘A’ Level, however, this is not essential as there is some flexibility in the department and coaching would be available. The Department works well together as a team, sharing good ideas and supporting each other. Full time or part-time can be considered.
Informal visits or conversations are welcome, please contact Mrs Gill Gobbitt to arrange.
We are a flourishing 11-18 high school situated in the pleasant and historic town of Framlingham, Suffolk. We are consistently one of the region’s highest performing schools. The Arts are truly valued in the school, and you would have a brilliant opportunity to ignite your passion for the subject, with students who are interested and interesting in our broad curriculum.
There is a thirst for learning amongst the pupils and as a parent once remarked, "it's cool to learn here." We have high expectations of our pupils and well qualified staff. Through excellent teaching and learning, pupils make very good progress here. We are very proud of our broad and balanced curriculum. Pupils can genuinely discover and excel in their talents! Pupils progress to a range of destinations from university (including over 10 students to Oxbridge over the past six years), college, training or employment.
We encourage suitable applicants to get in touch and apply early. We reserve the right to interview and appoint ahead of this deadline if we get an appropriate calibre of candidate(s).
Applicants should be aware that Thomas Mills High School will undertake a general online search as part of the application process and by completing the application form agree for us to do so.
