Job Purpose - Medical Education Team Leader - NWAFT
The role has 3 key elements: service delivery, leadership, and transformation.
You will provide support to the Director of Medical Education, Medical and Dental Education Manager, and the Medical Education Administration Teams.
Key Responsibilities
To provide leadership and line management to the Medical Education Administration Teams, ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of the medical education service on a day-to-day basis across the Trust.
Main duties of the job
Service Delivery
1. Provide support to the administration staff in medical education.
2. Manage staff and resources through effective management to ensure high-quality service provision.
3. Facilitate effective two-way communication between the Medical and Dental Education Manager and administration teams.
4. Ensure that administration staff are trained effectively, identifying ongoing training needs, including mandatory updates.
5. Identify development opportunities for team personnel development.
6. Oversee rosters and escalate service delivery concerns to the Medical and Dental Education Manager.
7. Support the Medical and Dental Education Manager in overall day-to-day operational management of the department.
8. Work as part of the management team to provide an efficient and effective service, deputizing for the Medical and Dental Education Manager when required.
9. Maintain accurate training records, contribute to team meetings, and liaise with other departments within the Trust and NHS England.
10. Expand the experience and knowledge of administration staff, managing performance concerns through appropriate policy application.

1. Demonstrate experience in Medical Education or experience of Senior Administrator Role
2. General knowledge of policies, procedures, and practices of undergraduate and postgraduate medical education including medical students, junior doctors, and GPs
3. Commitment to personal and professional development
Experience
Essential
1. Experience of working in an NHS hospital
2. Implementation, development, and maintenance of administrative systems and processes, including records management
3. Prioritizing workload for self and others based on immediate and longer-term actions needed to maintain all elements of the department's services
4. Effective communication through both written and verbal communications
5. Experience of working within a customer service-focused team environment
6. Experience of quality assurance, audit, and regulatory body inspection visits
Skills

1. Excellent standard of IT skills, sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office products i.e. Office, Outlook, Excel, etc.
