The Role
Context of role: Based at Citizens Advice West Suffolk, 90 Risbygate Street, Bury St Edmunds IP33 3AA with a requirement to travel to other locations as required, and reporting to the Chief Executive Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in a key local charity supporting people across West Suffolk.
Purpose of Job: Your primary responsibility will be to secure funding for Citizens Advice West Suffolk: identify new sources of funding and business opportunities to expand the funding base. You will respond to opportunities to bid for contracts and projects that become available. You will establish and maintain networks with mutual charities, social enterprises, businesses and other organisations with whom we may wish to bid in partnership.
Hours: 22.5 hours a week
Salary: £28,056 to £30,385 per annum pro rata depending on experience

Pension: Eligible employees 3% employer and 5% employee contribution into a workplace pension scheme with NEST.
Contractual Sick Pay: 4 weeks full pay and 4 weeks half pay on a rolling 12-month basis, after completion of the 6-month probation period.
Annual Leave: 5.6 weeks to include bank holidays.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Funding and Contracts:
Develop and maintain an effective fundraising strategy. Develop and co-ordinate partnerships and networks that support and progress the agreed objectives. Raise multiple funding streams to ensure the financial sustainability of Citizens Advice West Suffolk. Maintain existing funding relationships but also move the percentage bias towards sources of funding independent of local authorities. Be the lead for all and any service contracts which Citizens Advice West Suffolk may wish to bid on in isolation or in conjunction with other providers. Be the focal point of contact for funding and contracts. Provide funding and monitoring reports to funders on time as per funding agreements.
2. Planning and Development:
Work with representatives of member organisations, voluntary, statutory and commercial, to ensure that all aspects of the Citizens Advice West Suffolk fundraising strategy are developed, implemented and delivered. Identify business development opportunities and represent project priorities and perspectives when dealing with external stakeholders, funders and providers. Participate in Citizens Advice West Suffolk's initiatives as appropriate and contribute to the work of associated committees and working parties. Support the strategic development of the organisation to ensure its management and diversity strategy.
3. Service Delivery:
Ensure that partnerships are developed along lines that will enable Citizens Advice West Suffolk to meet agreed delivery targets and quality standards. Attend external meetings and events to network and develop partnerships. Ensure effective joint working partnerships and networks are maintained and developed.
4. Financial Management:
Maintain financial records as required under Charity and Company Law regulations. Contribute to decisions on allocation of resources by way of regular reports to the Chief Executive Officer and the board. Consider budget restrictions by liaising with the Chief Executive Officer to always ensure full cost recovery for proposed projects.
5. Administration:
Develop and monitor effective and efficient administrative systems dealing with project partners and funders. Develop and maintain contact details and create an effective mailing list. In conjunction with the Office Manager collect, maintain and present statistical data. Provide regular reports to the Chief Executive Officer on the progress of partnership service delivery, funding and networks.
6. Training and Development:
Identify and implement own training and development needs in conjunction with and authorised by the Citizens Advice West Suffolk Chief Executive Officer.
7. Research and Campaigning:
Coordinate the R&C function and line manage the R&C team to deliver the R&C plan.
8. Other Duties:
Attend meetings of staff and volunteers as required. Abide by health and safety guidelines and share responsibility for own safety and that of colleagues. Comply with data protection legislation and report any issues to the Chief Operating Officer. Work cooperatively with colleagues and encourage good teamwork, clear lines of communication and common practices within the LCA team. Carry out any other tasks that may be within the scope of the post to ensure the effective delivery and development of the service.

3. Experience of working on your own initiative but aware of your position within a team and your role in setting and meeting organisational objectives.
4. Effective communication and presentation skills.
5. Experience of planning ahead and rearranging own varied workload in a pressured environment to meet deadlines.
6. Experience of analysing and interpreting information and statistics.
7. Ability to earn and maintain the trust of those people with whom the organisation deals.
8. Energetic and imaginative mind expressing fresh views and ideas and a passion for making things happen.
9. Must be flexible in working hours including occasionally working at weekends and in the evenings as required.
10. Ability to travel to rural locations to carry out the role.
