Role Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Advanced Specialist Renal Dietitian to develop a new dietetic service (supporting people living with kidney disease) in South Devon. The postholder will work as part of the renal dietetic team (and wider dietetic and renal services) at the Royal Devon University Healthcare (RDUH) NHS Foundation Trust (based in Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, Exeter).
This may be a developmental role depending on the experience of the candidate.
About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic, experienced and highly motivated dietitian to fulfil this advanced renal dietetic clinical lead role within an evolving renal service in South Devon. You will join the RDUH renal dietetic team which provides outreach and satellite dietetic services to people living with kidney disease across Devon and South and West Somerset, focusing on providing dietetic care to inpatients (Exeter). You will work within a well-established team of renal dietitians which includes a renal dietetic support worker.
The proactive renal dietitian team is involved in British Dietetic Association and UK Kidney Association committee work as well as local, national and international project, research, and audit work. You would be part of a forward-thinking, ambitious, and successful renal dietetic service and have the opportunity to develop your clinical and leadership knowledge and skills. The renal dietetic team is part of the Nutrition and Dietetic department as well as renal services, working as an integral part of the renal multidisciplinary team.
You will share a caseload consisting of general nephrology, pre-dialysis, dialysis, and transplant patients. You will need to be a car driver and have access to a car to be able to travel to our haemodialysis satellite units. You will also be involved in the planning, training, and supervision of B and C placement student dietitians and the education of nursing and medical students at the Trust. The role will include line management responsibilities.
Working Pattern:
08:30-16:30 Monday-Friday (with flexibility to cover late shifts and bank holidays, and if required in the future, weekend working).
