We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Health and Safety Lead supporting our dynamic Scotland and Northern Ireland Highways Accounts on a hybrid basis.
This is a key leadership role which offers you, as a member of our Scotland and Northern Ireland Leadership Team, the unique opportunity to be at the forefront of ensuring Amey's core value of 'safety first, always', by complying with and promoting our robust safety measures to minimise the risk of injury or ill health to you and those around you. This will be achieved by consistently applying and working within our Zero Code framework whilst undertaking activities for or on behalf of Amey.
In this role, you will support the Transport Infrastructure HSEQ Director by ensuring the business effectively and systematically discharges its responsibilities in a compliant manner and specifically relating pertinent legislation and subscribed standards.
What You'll Do:
* Actively contribute to strategic development and fully support the delivery phase of agreed objectives and actions ensuring that Health & Safety is at the heart of 'why' we do 'what 'we do.
* Establish effective networks with Account Teams, Operational Safety Advisors and other key stakeholders within the business unit to encourage collaborative working.
* Ensure that the operational business is properly implementing the mandated Amey Policy requirements for Health & Safety.
* Stay abreast of developments in Health & Safety legislation and industry best practice through an ongoing process of formal continuing professional development.
* Operate against the wider Amey Governance framework, with oversight of BU level linkage and interface to ensure consistency throughout the business.
* Through direction, oversight and active involvement ensure incident investigations identify and implement effective preventive actions through a process of root cause analysis.
