Job Overview We are looking to recruit a full-time doctor to join the Older Peoples Medicine Department at Frimley Park on a one-year fixed term contract. The post offers excellent experience in geriatric medicine and general medicine and prepares trainees for applications for specialist training. Training and supervision in geriatric medicine including ward experience on the acute frailty unit and general geriatric wards and opportunity for more specialist experience to include front door acute frailty, urgent community response team and attendance at proactive virtual frailty meetings in the community. Main duties of the job The department is a supportive and pro-active group of consultants. There are 10 consultants, 3 registrars, 27 SHOs ,3 FY1s and a community doctor team of specialist and associate specialist doctors. The Out-patient Services Include General geriatric medicine clinics Movement Disorders Clinics We also have good network with our incontinence service, palliative care team and old age psychiatry. In addition, there is an orthogeriatric and POPs team offering similar opportunities. Please see attached JD for more information. Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities Out-patient services include: General geriatric medicine clinics & Movement Disorders Clinics We also have good network with our incontinence service, palliative care team and old age psychiatry. In addition, there is an orthogeriatric and POPs team offering similar opportunities. On call Responsibilites Registrars contribute to the medical registrar on call Rota which includes normal working days, on call days, weekend days and nights. The nights shifts are in blocks of 3 or 4 nights followed by compensatory rest days. The Rota is EWTD and new contract compliant. IiP To maintain the high standards of the department by contributing towards individual and team objectives.
