Key Competencies:
Essential
1. Ideally hold electrical engineering qualification but applications with suitable and related previous design experience in switch-gear, automation and electrical control systems will have equal consideration.
2. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
3. UK Driver's Licence, access to own transport and willingness to travel within the UK and Ireland.
4. Electrical experience (or relevant qualification - see above).
5. Natural aptitude for logical problem solving.
6. Ability to learn and adapt to new technology.
7. Ability to work on own initiative.
8. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
9. Ability to work as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
10. Ability to build relationships internally and externally with colleagues and clients.

Role Summary
1. Responsible for the interpretation of client's requirements in the design phase of projects.
2. Preparation of detailed electrical design and general arrangement drawings for the manufacture of motor control & power distribution panels.
3. Ensure compliance throughout the development of assigned projects with all relevant specifications, standards and safety regulations.
4. Preparation of bills of materials for procurement.
5. Preparation of documentation for the testing, inspection and commissioning of electrical systems.
6. Assisting with the preparation of tenders.
7. Participate in design/process reviews for products as required.
8. Engage in problem solving and brainstorming, both individually and as part of the design team.
9. Maintain and update electronic files, using electronic document management software.
10. Liaise and build effective working relationships with clients.
11. Keeping up to date with changes to applicable UK and European legislation.
12. Keeping up to date with technological advances and new products.
13. Develop personal skills and capability through ongoing training, as provided by the company or elsewhere subject to company approval.
14. Carry out any other duties appropriate to this post.
