As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team and take charge of a variety of complex processes across multiple departments.
Main duties and responsibilities
1. Lead and manage a team of engineers and fitters across multiple departments.
2. Oversee the maintenance, design, and optimization of complex machinery while ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality standards are maintained.
Key features of the role
1. Lead Mechanical capital projects within your department, ensuring they meet or exceed the requirements of the KRONOSPAN LTD site's mission and objectives.
2. Directly lead projects and contribute Mechanical elements to multi-disciplinary projects led by others.
3. Provide high-level Technical Support to the site, covering the full range of Mechanical systems (i.e., Pumps, Vessels, Piping, and Minor Civil works), including H&S elements.
4. Contribute proactively to the management and development of the wider engineering activities at Kronospan LTD.
5. Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations and site HS&E standards, policies, and procedures.
6. Ensure all activities by contractors/service providers are completed safely and in an environmentally acceptable manner.
7. Maintain an up-to-date awareness of current and forthcoming HS&E legislation and advise on regulatory requirements.
8. Zone responsibility as outlined on the Site Housekeeping Plan.
Management / Supervisory Responsibilities
1. Leadership and management of designated Mechanical Maintenance Technicians and Assistant Engineers.
2. Provide leadership, development, and coaching to your direct reports.
3. Performance management of direct reports, including structured use of the Kronospan performance appraisal process.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
1. Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or HNC qualified.
2. 5+ years of experience working with Manufacturing or Plant equipment.
3. Ability to plan, organize, and lead teams.
4. Demonstrated team leadership skills to enhance team outcomes.
5. Ability to work under pressure and maintain a consistently high level of performance.
6. Ability to investigate, understand, and resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
