Role Description:
This is a full-time on-site Management Accountant role located in Warrington. The Management Accountant will be responsible for financial statements, accruals, analytical skills, finance, and accounting tasks on a day-to-day basis.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare monthly management accounts for all group companies, including detailed variance analysis and commentary for review by the Group FC.
2. Analysis of all projects ensuring costs are allocated correctly and variances to budgets are explained.
3. Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with key stakeholders and the Group FC.
4. Monitor cash flow and provide cash flow forecasting to ensure financial stability, recommending improvements to optimise.
5. Ensure the accuracy of financial records, managing month-end and year-end closing processes.
6. Lead on cost control initiatives, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements.
7. Prepare the VAT Returns for all group companies.
8. Assist in system improvements, process automation, and the implementation of new technologies across the group.
9. Work closely with multiple departments (Commercial, Operations, Procurement etc.) to ensure accurate reporting and provide financial insights to support business decisions.
10. Manage a small team ensuring relevant training and support is given.
Experience:
1. A minimum of 3 years’ experience within a similar role.
2. An understanding of the utilities sector is desirable but not essential.
3. Fully qualified or strong candidates that are qualified by experience will be considered.
4. Strong skills in MS Office; specifically, PowerPoint, Word & Excel.
5. Experience of leading and managing a small team, coaching and empowering others to improve performance and ensure everyone contributes.
6. Excellent ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
