You will encourage students to explore potential careers and develop skills for progression onto higher education and exciting careers in the scientific field. Duties & Responsibilities
* Promote our college strategy of Career-Focused Learning.
* Travel across campuses to carry out teaching duties as required.
* Contribute to the development of the curriculum area and comply with College Policies.
* Plan lessons in line with the needs of students and curriculum area schemes of work.
* Set and mark work according to college policies.
* Monitor and report on student progress.
* Communicate with staff regarding student organization.
* Attend parents’ consultation evenings and other College events.
* Interview prospective students and contribute to the induction process.
* Participate in the professional appraisal process.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of recent developments in the subject area.
* Ensure effective supervision of learners and adhere to emergency procedures.
* Provide guidance and advice within procedures, policy and legislation.
* Manage and prioritize actions in relation to learner issues.
* Demonstrate effective organizational and time management skills.
Job Requirements:
* Degree in the relevant subject or similar.
* Expertise in the chosen area and knowledge of additional short courses/enrichment activities.
The right candidate will have:
* Capability of taking responsibility for multi functions involving students and college events.
* Ability to relate well to staff and students and maximize achievement through appropriate support.
* Ability to keep up with developments in the curriculum areas.
* Creative and lateral thinking to promote Campus growth.
* Ability to resolve student conflict and deal with criticism.
