Associate Structural Engineer - Temporary Works
We are looking for an Associate with Temporary Works experience to join our Warrington office.
Due to increasing workload with new and existing projects and prospects as well as a growing team, we are looking for an Associate who will lead and help grow the team. The successful individual will be someone who wants to make a difference and be part of an expanding business delivering specialist design solutions for a wide range of infrastructure projects across the UK, including Rail, Bridges, Marine, Commercial, Nuclear, and Demolition.
You will be a Chartered Civil/Structural Engineer with a proven track record of successful delivery of temporary works design projects. You will develop robust design solutions through collaborative and proactive management of client demands - providing leadership from both a technical delivery and people management perspective.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Principal Engineer who is looking to progress into a more senior position or for someone already in an Associate or Engineering Manager role looking to transition to a senior leadership position with significant responsibility for business growth.
Responsibilities:
* Act as lead for the regional office comprising multidisciplinary design teams.
* Act as a project director, working with the project team at a senior level.
* Exercise oversight over the regional office providing technical support as required, reviewing intermediate level (Cat. 1 and 2) design proposals for concept and practicability, and approving the final result.
* Manage resources effectively and efficiently.
* Lead the design process and coordinate team members to deliver appropriate and cost-effective solutions to the agreed programme; support those less experienced by technical review, mentoring, and advice.
* Share knowledge, best practices, and innovation across the business.
* Participate in tender/bids, business development, and opportunities as they arise.
* Be a Chartered Engineer, Member of ICE or IStructE.
* Demonstrate expertise in the technical principles underlying Civil Engineering design and practice, particularly Temporary Works.
* Have experience in the application of British and European codes for ultimate limit state and permissible stress design for broadly used materials and processes.
* Possess solid knowledge of the application of UK Health and Safety legislation, particularly CDM 2015.
