SEN Teaching Assistant with Lunchtime Supervision Duties Salary: TA2, SCP 5-6 £18,244 - £18,534 actual Hours: 31 per week, Term time only plus 5 TED days We are a thriving school, sat in beautiful grounds on the outskirts of Evesham. Job responsibilities and tasks: TEACHING ASSISTANT To assist teachers with learning activities in the classroom, including the planning of related work programmes for individuals and groups. To work with intervention groups in literacy and/or numeracy. To support pupils with SEN requirements To work as part of the staff team to ensure the highest standards of learning and behaviour in the school. To promote pupil independence, fostering their intellectual, social and emotional development. To monitor and report children’s progress, achievements, problems and developmental needs to adjust teachers and/or form teacher. To assist pupils with day-to-day organisation and school routines. To promote pupils’ sense of well-being, following the school’s rewards policy. To show enthusiasm for the wider aspects of school life including theme days and clubs. To contribute to pupil progress meetings To keep children safe and follow the School’s Safeguarding policy. To support and promote the ethos of the school LUNCHTIME SUPERVISOR To direct and supervise children to and from the dining area. To supervise children whilst collecting and eating food. To supervise children in the playground, on the field, and in the classrooms during wet playtimes. Encourage the children to play constructively. Take part in play where appropriate. To instil good manners and sociable behaviour in the dining hall and around the school, referring unacceptable behaviour to a senior member of staff. To liaise with other lunchtime supervisors to ensure that adequate supervision of all school areas is always maintained. To administer basic first aid and refer to a trained first aider where necessary Other Duties: To undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this job. To undertake health and safety duties commensurate with the post and/or as detailed in the Directorate’s Health and Safety Policy The successful candidate will be energetic, dynamic, have excellent relationships with pupils and staff and be a good team player.
