Graduate Research Data Analyst - Fund Management, Data Analysis, Data Visualisation – Permanent, Newcastle, £33,000 base
We are seeking a Graduate Research Data Analyst on behalf of our client, a specialist Fund Management consultancy, based in the heart of Newcastle Upon Tyne.
You will collaborate closely both internally and with clients. Working in a fast-paced and evolving environment, you will support Trading Desks and wider business areas in their investment decisions by providing insights on areas such as financial markets, securities and economic trends through proficient data analysis.
This will involve the use of various quantitative techniques, statistical models, and data-driven analysis to evaluate investment opportunities, assess risks, and enhance portfolio performance.
Key responsibilities:
• Set up data trials and subscriptions of alternative datasets for Research Economists.
• Ingest and publish datasets using the Data Team’s platform, using Databricks and Dremio
• Maintain and extend the data quality check library
• Monitor vendor data quality and improve vendor performance
• Perform data analysis using Python, Jupyter, SQL and Tableau
• Produce dashboards and visualisations
• Provide status updates regularly to internal stakeholders.
Key skills:
• A minimum 2:1 degree (Economics, or a related field), ideally from a Russell Group University
• Strong SQL and Python coding skill
• Understanding of how organisations consume, lifecycle, and manage their data
• Strong initiative, curiosity and willingness to learn
• Clear and concise communication style
