Location: Flexible (we offer hybrid working so some Swindon office presence will be required, approximately 2 days per week) The opportunity: An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the UK Life Reporting team as an Assistant Accountant. You will be responsible for supporting the team in delivering its quarterly and annual financial reporting responsibilities under IFRS and Local Statutory. As part of the role, you will be responsible for timely and accurate preparation of internal and external financial information in order to balance financial performance, compliance, and customer satisfaction. As a member of the team you will play a vital part in helping the department to achieve its operational objectives and ensure the team delivers a high-quality service. We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate who is able to work both independently and as part of a team to deliver on our commitment to customers. What will you be doing? Examples of responsibilities are: Preparation of key reports during quarter and year end periods, to support the delivery of all IFRS and Local Statutory requirements, including journal entries and query resolution; Ongoing analysis / oversight of SAP ledgers, supporting with intercompany balance queries, cash management and journal entries/queries; Support the preparation of annual statutory accounts and year end audit; Continue to challenge and improve our processes; Provide broader team support as required. What are we looking for: You may be a newly qualified accountant or part qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA); You will have experience of accounting within a large organisation; You will have strong Excel skills including working with advanced formulas, experience of using PowerQuery an advantage; You will have excellent time and task management skills; You will have strong communication skills; You will be enthusiastic, curious, and a proven quick learner with a can-do attitude; You will have strong problem-solving skills, and a high level of agility; You will have knowledge of financial systems & business platforms (SAP an advantage).
