What you'll be doing? Oregon Timber Frame (OTFE), one of the UK’s largest timber frame manufacturers are a division of Barratt Developments PLC, Britain’s largest housebuilder, following an acquisition in 2019. We specialise in the design, manufacture, supply and erection of structural timbers to all divisions across the Barratt Group. As Production Controller you will be the main liaison between the factory, OCM, hauliers and site management teams. You will coordinate all aspects of production deliveries to various sites. You will: Deal with client & OCM scheduling requests (phone & email) Deal with client & OCM queries (phone & email) Schedule kit dates and delivery plans in FrameIT Maintain production board Be confident, considered and take ownership of production planning. Co-ordinate all aspects of haulage for delivery of frames Maintain trailer counts in conjunction with haulage company Prepare delivery plans for haulage company and issue weekly/quarterly and as amended Communicate delivery plans with client & OCM Report at OCM weekly meetings on any areas of concern for scheduled deliveries/ improvements etc. Provide production admin team with weekly schedule and advise of changes Lead or take part in project work (Continuous Improvement, R&D, etc.) Deal with all day-to-day issues from site / haulage / OCM Attend production meetings to ensure production is in line with delivery schedule Support Production Integration Manager/Production admin where required Work with Managers to plan and manage production tasks to improve runtime. Review production plans to identify and report potential risks to Manager. What you'll need? To be successful in the role, we are looking for: Proven experience in production planning or manufacturing/logistics management. Ability and willingness to work flexibly to suit the needs and demands of the role. This may involve working different hours/days to accommodate shift working and potentially travel away from home to visit alternate factory sites. Good understanding and knowledge of production scheduling and thrives on the challenge of working in a busy department. Self-awareness, resilience, optimism and a collaborative approach to working. Strong planning skills with the ability to handle multiple projects through to completion and to manage competing priorities. Advanced people skills and the ability to communicate to a diverse range of people. Experience in operating production control systems. Experience of ERP/MRP systems Excellent time management: Ability to prioritise workload in a timely manner. Self-motivated with a positive attitude. Highly numerate and literate (e.g., read drawings, prepare spreadsheets, write emails and reports). Excellent communicator (both written and oral) and confident to deal with customers / site teams / contractors. Strong IT skills (able to learn FrameIT) and fully competent on Word & Excel. Team Player who is willing to support other departments, if required. Relevant professional training/qualifications would be an advantage but are not essential.
