Job Title: Psychologist – Children & Young People Services Location: Across multiple sites in Peterborough, Northampton, London, and Kent Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum Job Type: Full-time, Permanent About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Psychologist to join our Children & Young People Services. In this role, you will work across various sites in Peterborough, Northampton, London, and Kent, providing high-quality psychological support to children, young people, and staff in care or residential settings. You will play a key role in assessing, diagnosing, and developing tailored interventions that promote positive mental health and well-being for children and young people. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner to make a meaningful impact in the lives of vulnerable children and young people in care, working alongside a multidisciplinary team. Key Responsibilities: Conduct psychological assessments of children and young people, identifying emotional, behavioral, and developmental issues. Develop and implement tailored intervention plans, providing psychological support to children, young people, and staff. Work closely with care staff to deliver training and guidance on mental health, behaviour management, and therapeutic interventions. Collaborate with other professionals, including social workers, healthcare teams, and educators, to ensure holistic care. Monitor progress and adjust therapeutic interventions as necessary, ensuring the well-being of children and young people in care. Provide support and advice to staff regarding challenging behaviors and complex emotional needs. Deliver individual and group therapy sessions, incorporating evidence-based psychological practices. Maintain accurate records of assessments, interventions, and progress, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with safeguarding regulations. Key Skills and Qualifications: Must hold a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology (Clinical, Educational, or Child Psychology preferred). Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist. Proven experience working with children, young people, and staff in care or residential settings. Strong knowledge of child development, mental health issues, and therapeutic interventions. Ability to assess and diagnose psychological conditions and create personalized intervention plans. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, young people, and staff. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
