The Post:
As part of the NSS Human Resources and Workforce Development Department, the multi-disciplinary Healthy Working Lives aim to improve the health, safety and well-being of NSS employees. This is achieved through working with the organization to provide the opportunity, ability, support and encouragement to work in ways and in an environment that allows them to sustain and improve employees’ health and well-being.
We currently have a vacancy for an Occupational Health Staff Nurse. This role provides an extensive remit of services which will include providing a confidential consultation service, active case management, immunisation clinics, health surveillance and providing support to managers and staff through day-to-day occupational health enquiries. Communicating sensitive information whilst maintaining confidentiality is an essential part of this role. Applicants will also be required to maintain a computerised and manual system/database for clinical records, deliver management information reports and support NSS Occupational Health at strategic meetings.
The Candidate:
You should be an experienced registered nurse with up-to-date registration with NMC. You should have post registration experience in general nursing and hold or be working towards a specialist practitioner certificate in Occupational Health Nursing.
Ideally, you will also have experience/skills in phlebotomy, counselling with knowledge of current OH issues and relevant legislation.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a PVG Scheme check. Any candidate who has lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.
Candidates must have current NMC registration at the time of applying.
Location and Working Pattern:
This is currently a hybrid working post; however, you will have a base at either Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Delta House, Glasgow. Some travelling to our other sites will be required.
The working pattern is Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week. However, part time/flexible working and Job Share will be considered.
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
