The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Head of Planning to lead and manage the planning function within a prestigious and rapidly growing development business. Specialising in high-end new builds and renovations, the company is renowned for delivering exceptional family homes. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping future developments, ensuring strategic planning objectives are met while maintaining the highest standards of quality and design.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the planning team, overseeing all planning applications and development proposals.
* Develop and implement planning strategies to support the company’s growth and project pipeline.
* Engage with local authorities, stakeholders, and consultants to secure planning permissions efficiently.
* Provide expert advice on planning policy, regulations, and site feasibility.
* Ensure projects align with relevant planning laws, environmental policies, and industry best practices.
* Identify opportunities for land acquisition and development potential.
* Represent the business at planning meetings, appeals, and public consultations.
* Maintain strong relationships with industry professionals, planning officers, and external consultants.
What We’re Looking For
* Chartered Town Planner (MRTPI) with substantial experience in residential and mixed-use developments.
* Strong leadership skills with experience managing a planning team.
* Proven ability to navigate complex planning applications and secure approvals.
* Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
* Commercial awareness and understanding of the luxury residential market.
* Strong knowledge of UK planning policies and regulations.
