Our client, a well-established and growing specialist multi-disciplined surveying consultancy, is looking for a Principal Designer to join their growing team in their head office in Leicester.
The Principal Designer will operate as a key member of the team, serving as the main contact between clients, designers, and contractors regarding health and safety issues. They will ensure health and safety compliance and that CDM regulations are met to facilitate the delivery of new build and refurbishment education projects.
Responsibilities:
* Liaising and communicating with clients, contractors, Building Surveyors, architects, and more to offer advice and guidance on CDM/health and safety issues.
* Assisting with the preparation of health and safety/CDM documentation for contractors, clients, and others, such as Health and Safety Files.
* Working collaboratively with colleagues and keeping them informed of issues on projects at all times.
* Attending pre-contract and other site meetings, and carrying out independent H&S site audits/inspections.
* Bringing together all information on how to run the project and ensuring Health and Safety guidelines are met.
Minimum Requirements:
* Minimum of 3-4 years' experience within a similar role.
* NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent/higher.
* Relevant HNC, HND, BSc or MSc (or equivalent) in a construction-related topic.
* Good knowledge and understanding of appropriate legislation.
* Good communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Living within commuting distance of Leicester.
* Happy to travel as required.
