TECHNICAL SALES MANAGER
LOCATION: Bedford / Hybrid
SALARY & BENEFITS: c£52,500 + 20% Bonus + Car + HC + Pension
Do you want to be the sales lead of a niche business, an SME with a global reach, and industry expert in power equipment and PPE products? If the answer is yes, then apply for this newly created vacancy in Sales. Reporting directly to the MD, you will have the autonomy to generate leads and win business with new and legacy customers.
The Role:
The key objective is to grow market share by securing new customers and increasing volume at existing customers.
1. New Business Development: Build relationships with target accounts and convert new enquiries into orders. Identifying new sectors, potential customers, developing leads and winning business to increase revenue and margins.
2. Key Account Management: Manage existing customers, focusing on retention and account development.
3. A traditional, customer-facing technical field sales role, you will be tasked with visiting existing customers, reapproaching legacy customers and renewing relationships.
4. Communicate at a technical and commercial level when identifying, discussing, and understanding customer requirements and selecting suitable product(s).
5. Devise and present proposals to customers including product demonstrations/evaluations.
6. Build long-term customer relationships gaining repeat business.
7. Using digital media and modern channels to grow the business, you will drive the new media and marketing channels and develop a strategy for social media promoting brand management, positioning, and execution.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate is a motivated, well-organised individual who has experience of selling technical products.
1. An academic achiever in a Business, Marketing or Technical related subject is desirable.
2. Technical B2B sales and digital marketing experience ideally gained within an SME, having developed novel plans for market penetration and delivering to the commercial/business plan.
3. Knowledge of the power or PPE industry sector or analogous field would be advantageous but not essential.
4. Proven Technical Sales experience, able to sell solutions, devise proposals, develop profitable business, create strong revenue streams ultimately building relationships and delighting the customers.
5. A tenacious new business developer, adopting a hunter mentality, able to generate cold, as well as warm leads, and ultimately win new customers.
6. An Account Manager, able to re-engage with lapsed customers, build relationships with old and new prospects at all levels.
7. Some experience of marketing through multiple communication channels, able to create leads through modern methods of marketing.
8. CRM experience is desirable and sophisticated IT skills.
9. A tenacious, positive and determined attitude is required, a resilient character able to overcome objections.
10. Excellent negotiation, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
11. An influencer who can easily manage objections.
12. Flexibility is required to plan visits and travel to customer sites.
